Jorge Ricardo, world record holder for racing, will compete in the Prêmio UAE President Cup Series for Colts III

The Prêmio UAE President Cup Series For Colts III, fifth race of the UAE President Cup Arabian Purebred Classic Series – South America Mondial Brazil will have the participation of the world race record holder, jockey Jorge Ricardo, affectionately known as Ricardinho, for the first time in Arabian Races at Cidade Jardim since his return in 2013. He will ride Obstinado Rach who has competed three times and finished second in all three races.

The race will be held in 1,100m in dirty, for 3–year–old and older without a win, at Cidade Jardim Racecourse, Jockey Club de São Paulo,

Jorge Ricardo said: “Many years ago I rode an Arabian horse in Rio Grande do Sul and won a race. The organization had already invited me to participate, but it didn't work out and now with the invitation of Lucas Quintana, one of the trainers with the most victories, for this race I accepted and we will try to win because the horse, Obstinado Rach, had an excellent performance in the three times that competed. I usually say that I was born predestined; I was born to do what I do. My love for all of this grows every year. I keep riding because it's my life. I can't live without it.”

Among the seven horses that will participate in the Prêmio UAE President Cup Series For Colts III, four have already competed (Graccus Rach, RG Kemir, Obstinado Rach and Vince Rach) and three (Mandato Rach, Gustaf Rach and Veneraddo Rach) will compete for the first time.

The highlight of the race is Obstinado Rach, son of the great champion Atentaddo VE, who will be driven by Jorge Ricardo, and will have as competitors his half–brother Veneraddo Rach, ridden by L. Henriques, Graccus Rach ridden by F. Larroque, who won the Prize UAE President Cup Series For Fillies II with Holly Pol Rach on July 3; and RG Kemir under the command of R. Mendonça.

In addition to prizes during races, all horses participating in the 2021 Race Calendar also compete in the Racing mode of the Arabian Cup 2021.

Prêmio UAE President Cup Series For Fillies II is organised by the Brazilian Arabian Horse Breeders Association in partnership with the Jockey Club de São Paulo.

The Emirates Equestrian Federation launched the president of the UAE Cup Series for Purebred Arabian Horses in 1994 to promote the noble breed worldwide, which is now gaining popularity and attractiveness. The series promotes the UAE’s efforts to create a global awareness of the purebred Arabian horse and its important place in UAE culture and history. Founded by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to promote and celebrate the Arabian horse, and prove that they can race competitively with thoroughbred horses, the UAE President Cup Series is the first international race series for Arabian horses and remains the premier races for the breed.
