Nasser bin Hamad Begins Preparations for World Endurance Championship
by winning 160 km Race

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs has accomplished fist achievement in the 160 km race which took place as part of the endurance season opener, held at the Bahrain International Endurance Village on November 7. As a result, HH Shaikh Nasser has qualified for the Elite Jockeys Category.

On this occasion, HH Shaikh Nasser expressed utmost happiness at winning first place and joining the elite group, among which Bahrain has nailed down a prominent place, confirming the advanced level of the Kingdom's endurance sport. "The World Endurance Championship will require us to double our efforts, especially that it will feature the best jockeys and the best horses. However, the team will be ready and we will be looking to confirm our position among the elites in this sport," HH Shaikh Nasser said.

Thrilling Race
Commenting further, HH Shaikh Nasser stated: "The race was a thrilling one, from the beginning until the end. Everyone gave their very best. To hold a 160 km at the beginning of the season needed everyone to double their efforts, especially that the race was held over five stages. This confirms that all the participants are ready for the new season."

It's worth noting that the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), under the presidency of HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa organised the qualifiers for the 160 km race and to join the elite category. The event was held over five stages, with the first phase covering a distance of 40 km second and third of 35 km, fourth of 30 km and fifth of 20 km.

HH Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad finished first riding Tammam La Lizonne in 08:15:34 with an average speed of 19,37 km/h; followed by Abdulrahman Al Zayed with Bazooka La Majorie (08:15:35 and 19,37 km/h)and Shaikh Mohammed Bin Mubarak Al Khalifa on Banco de Flauzins (08:15:36 and 19,37 km/h), both of whom finished second and third respectively.

The race had the participation of 12 binomials and only one was eliminated.
