Premio Milano UAE President Cup Stakes: Hayyan, the sixth group of a Great Traveler

Hayyan ridden by Ioritz Mendizabal

Frédéric Sanchez had chosen to move to Italy to find a good entry for his Hayyan (Munjiz x Dahwa by Tidjani). In the United Arab Emirates, he placed third in the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Jewel Crown (Gr1 PA) before taking part in the Dubai Kahayla Classic (Gr1 PA), his last outing before Gr2 San Siro.

Representative of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Hayyan is a great traveler, he who won the President of the UAE Cup - UK Arabian Derby (Gr1 PA) in Doncaster and three French Groups, including the Qatar Derby des 4ans and the Doha Cup Prix Manganate (Grs1 PA).

In San Siro, Hayyan returned to victory. Ioritz Mendizabal worked to calm his partner early on, while Antares del Ma (Af Albahar x Majie de Piboul by Al Sakbe) and Ghurat Al Zaiman (Hilal Al Zaman) led the hunt.

Cristian Demuro, in the saddle on Arion (Dahess) for Élisabeth Bernard, decided to approach in front, when Ioritz Mendizabal was still patient. The race really started on the last bend, and Hayyan started his effort only 200m from the goal.

Although leaning to his right, which sparked an investigation, Hayyan, despite weighing 60.5 kilos, passed the post as the winner in front of Antares del Ma, second at a length under 57.5 kilos and the "FR" Arion (Dahess x Kiss de Ghazal by Dormane), third with 54 kilos.

Hayyan, representative of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is a very good horse - he has won three times at the Gr1 PA level - but it is not easy. Ioritz Mendizabal said: “The lack of trains did not serve Hayyan. He pulled a little but ended up landing. He won on his class while showing a little watchfulness to finish.”

A son of the exceptional broodmare Dahwa, Hayyan comes from one of the most beautiful families of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. His dam, Dahwa (Tidjani), won the Breeding Prize (Gr2 PA). His first offspring, Thabit (Munjiz), won the Coupe du Sud-Ouest (Gr3 PA). The second, Bandar (Munjiz), won in the Al Maktoum Challenge Round 3 (Gr1 PA).

The third, Najah (Munjiz), won the Prix Nefta (Gr2 PA) and the French Arabian Breeders' Challenge-Pouliches (Gr2 PA). She was also third in the Qatar Arabian Trophy des Pouliches (Gr1 PA). Hayyan is the fourth product. Teema (Bibi de Carrère), the fifth, took third place in the Qatar Arabian Trophy des Pouliches (Gr1 PA).
The second mother, Amidou Douzaia (Chéri Bibi), is at the origin of more than 15 black types, in first or second generation. We can cite Abhaar (Al Nasr), winner of the Emirates Championship (Gr1 PA), Naseem (Mahabb), winner of the Al Maktoum Challenge R1 and of the President Cup (Grs1 PA), Shahm (Mahabb), winner of The President of the UAE Cup - - Coupe d'Europe des Chevaux Arabes (Gr1 PA) or the champion Deryan (Mahabb), winner of the Coupe d'Europe des Chevaux Arabes and of the Dubai Kahayla Classic (Grs1 PA)… List no exhaustive!
