Al Faisal stays on well to score in Poland

WATCH THE RACE

The three-year-old pure-bred Arabian Al Faisal (FR)(AF Albahar x Sakina De Faust) carried the colours of his owner Sheikh Faisal Bin Hamad Bin Jassim Al Thani to success in Poland. The bay colt is trained by M Kacprzyk and was ridden to success by J K Grzybowski.

One of five runners for the 2,000m contest, Al Faisal was on and off the bridle throughout and was bustled along by his jockey on multiple occasions. Turning for home, Al Faisal still had a few lengths to make behind the race leader Brahim (Hilal Al Zaman) who hung left and lost ground when turning for home. Inside the final two furlongs, Al Faisal kicked clear and held on gamely to hold off Bayareq (Madj Al Arab), who stayed on strongly to finish second by half a length. Idya Des Auberines (Al Mamun Monlau) took third at the line.

Bred by his owner, Al Faisal is by AF Albahar (Amer), who stands at Haras de Thouars, and is out of Sakina De Faust (Al Sakbe) a winner over 2,000m in Germany.
