Mawarid wins with the colours of HH Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum

Following declarations, the Arabian Racing Organisation (ARO) was delighted to publish a full field of 13 runners for the Wathbastallions.com Handicap (0-75) Stakes. The 1m1.5f contest will be the opening race on the card at Wolverhampton on Monday September 14 starting at 3.40pm.
Strongly fancied is the James Owen trained Mawarid, who was successful on his seasonal reappearance last year in the Wathba Stallions Cup (0-60) Handicap at Chelmsford City. He runs in the colours of HH Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum, who has a further four runners, two of which are trained by Phil Collington. Leicestershire based handler Peter Hammersley sends three horses, all for different owners, including his homebred colt Al-Taba.
Delyth Thomas whose horses always warrant respect in handicap company has her first runners of 2020, Kayclaire and Callymay, as does Nikki Malcolm with Deena Bint Krayyan. Making his UK debut for Jayme Plumb is Dartianne for owner-breeders Colin and Michelle Garner.
The Wathba Stallions Cup series supports grassroots Arabian racing as part of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival and is a popular addition to the programme worldwide.
